Summary

Antony McDonald collaborated with Siobhan Davies on the costume design for Eighty Eight, The Glass Blew In, Wanting to Tell Stories and White Bird Featherless which was filmed by the BBC..Other dance designs include Hidden Variables by Colin Mathews for The Royal Ballet, choreographed by Ashley Page, with whom McDonald had previously worked on the award winning Fearful Symmetries, Ebony Concerto and Cheating Lying Stealing, all for The Royal Ballet. With Second Stride McDonald directed, designed and devised Escape at Sea bringing Lynn Seymour back to the stage. Other designs include Heaven Ablaze which was filmed by the BBC and Baddenheim. McDonald then moved on to direct opera and theatre productions as well as designing. In addition to the collaboration with Richard Jones on Un Ballo in Maschera for the 1999 and 2000 Brengenz Festivals and a new production of La Boheme for 2001-02, McDonald had directed Aida, Samson and Delilah, the Makropolous Case, Broken Strings and Snatched by the Gods, all for Scottish Opera.
